Why Taylor Ayanna made the watchlist
KULTURE84’s Artist to Watch starts with movement that can be verified. On the August 29, 2026 edition of the DRT Global Top 100 Independent Airplay Chart, “Mister Monsieur” held the No. 1 position. The chart lists the release under Taylor Ayanna, placing an independently issued R&B record at the top of the week’s independent-airplay field.
That combination—current chart momentum, an independent release and a clear fit inside KULTURE84’s Hip-Hop, Rap and R&B focus—is why Taylor Ayanna leads this week’s watchlist.
The record in view
Apple Music identifies Taylor Ayanna as an R&B/Soul artist from Houston and lists “Mister Monsieur” as a July 3, 2026 single. The KULTURE84 feature links directly to that official release page so listeners can hear the record and make their own call.
The chart placement is the entry point, not the whole story. KULTURE84 will watch for sustained airplay, the next independently released record, live performance growth and confirmed developments from the artist’s official channels.
How KULTURE84 chooses the feature
Choose one independently released artist from the latest available public chart Top 10. Verify genre, release and label status before publication; do not select a major-label release.
Chart position does not buy coverage, and a submission does not guarantee selection. The purpose is discovery: find measurable independent momentum early, verify the release, and give the audience a clean path to the music.
